Steve Kerr is on the brink of dealing arguably the final major piece of a team that was a Robert Horry hip check away from being World Champions.  The trade winds swirling around Amare Stoudamire have been long winded, frustrating, exhausting, and down right heartbreaking.  We have seen him grow from a boy to a man before our very eyes.  We have seen him dominate, and thrill.  But then just like that something was taken from him.  He wasn't as explosive.  He wasnt as feared.  And he certainly had lost some of his swagger.  And I have to believe it was seeing the teammates he thrived with get summarily dismissed. One, by one.  If you dont think seeing guys that helped you nearly get to promised land dealt away cant get into your head, then you just dont know basketball.  Quentin Richardson was once quoted as saying, "We would have won 2 or three championships with the team we had.  Why they broke us up?  Ill never understand."  Its something Suns fans worldwide will never understand.  And when Kerr's final days in Arizona come and he has cleaned out his office, he will always be remembered for his failures here.  Mismanaged draft picks, terrible trades, and indifference to the passionate fans in Phoenix.  He will officially be enemy number one in the Valley ahead of NBA Commissioner, David Stern.  A title that seemed more impossible to strip than Cal Ripken Jr.'s game hit streak.  At least Kerr will have that trophy for his mantle.
